It was on this vast parade field in Fort Lewis, Washington where I raised my right hand and took my oath of office as a commissioned officer of the United States Army…two years ago, today. That was one of the proudest moments of my life. After taking my oath and getting my gold bars pinned on, I received my first salute from my dad (a retired NCO.)
So much has changed since that fateful day…and not just my career.
