I forgot to mention this, but last week, we went down to the range.
I qualified on my M16. It took me five tries to “zero” my weapon (and I still didn’t technically zero it to standard) but lo and behold, I qualified on my first try on the pop-up range. The new battalion commander was there. He’s a stickler for the rules, and insisted that everyone on the range remain in full gear at all times.
Not cool (figuratively or literally) in New Mexico in August.
